Case Study #1
Client
Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers
Map Product
6-map series detaining San Luis Obispo County mountain bike trail networks
Goal
- Involve more people in trail maintenance throughout SLO County.
- The maps raise public awareness of CCCMB in our local community.
- The extensive trail networks demarcated on every map showcase the substantial amount of maintenance labor required.
- These maps also encourage legal riding by identifying public land ownership.
Result
CCCMB's freely available maps often serve as "the bait" to draw new visitors to the group's website. Here, it is hoped newcomers will learn more of the subtleties of the group's work and, in turn, become motivated to help improve the local trail system. Also, people who use these maps are more likely to attend future workdays because they've become invested in the trails they've been enjoying. The Maps section of the CCCMB website sees more traffic than any other part of the site.
